They would leave me in my darkest hour
Alone, here, in this bitter mournful time
But they trusted me with their lives

Forsaken, I walk this dark empty alley
Alone in the pouring December rain
I recall all I've done; for you, it's the same

I entered winter once again, freezing
Shivering in the piercing cold
Bearing stories that will never be told

You left me in the autumn of my life
Forgetting all the good I did for you
But it was never enough!

Will anything be remembered
Or looked upon with pride?
Will it all be thrown aside?

The image of you fades away
As time itself decays
And you're nowhere, you won't take me home!

Leave me here,
Crying, wailing, grieving
Seeking, unwinding, leaving
Sighing…why?

And when you remember me
Your dreams will turn stone cold!
Opeth-inspired. Written about a time when I felt really down.
